Devastation II Update (01/10/21)


Log - 1/10/21

[Changes]

  1. Added lock on Reticle to incoming missiles, slowed down velocity and adjusted size of the model to see better.
  2. Built a Game Trailer.
  3. Reversed videos back to using compressed to save build size, the re-rendering kept quality of the video.
  4. Had to re-Render all videos to .webm to build project for Linux.
  5. Build available for Windows, MacOS and Linux.

[Bug Fixes]

  • Playing survival without setting anything didn't run the setupship() function.
  • Fusion crosshair color jitters when no enemies on screen.
  • Crosshair not changing color based on what concept is selected, it stays white.
  • Skip Preview “A” button didn't switch icon when mouse + keyboard active.
  • Fixed issues with enemies spawning before animation display was finished.
  • When using free aiming with mouse movement is jittery, even with smoothing on, which also needs to be multiplied to match non smoothing movement this isn't affected with gamepad.
  • Pushed back enemies Z position to give player a bit more room.
  • Adjusted boss fire rate so it doesn't shoot beams of energy projectiles.
  • Removed Scene transitioning/loading and added Game intro system into main scene.
  • Added post processing to intro camera.
  • Fixed controller disconnection event during intro sequence.
  • Fixed issue with crosshair color (Non-Lock on) only displaying white.
  • Added ray cast detection to black screen UI transitioning, stops player from clicking anything while black screen is active.
  • Issue with Unity build. Music doesn't work at all but all sounds intact newest Unity 2020.2.1.
  • Issue 2 with Unity build. Game is completely corrupted on unity 2019.4.17 LTS.
  • Fixed issue with enemies moving too fast on nightmare difficulty.
  • Devastation weapon had no price.
  • Decreased the enemy rate of fire and bullet velocity.

[Known Bugs]

  • Fix smoothing to repeat in loop music.
  • Steam error comes up if steam isn't open.
  • Fix nuke explosion sound “again”.
  • When using free aiming with mouse movement is jittery, even with smoothing on, which also needs to be multiplied to match non smoothing movement this isn't affected with gamepad.
  • Free-range and story tutorial original videos clip a green flash. Recording desktop video must have messed up.
  • Level 12 can take a long time to accomplish.
  • About tutorial need to be updated.

[Add Later]

  1. Content “available” popup in upgrade menu after a level. Do the same with survival mode but integrate it into the upgrade menu.
  2. Adjust/change score for color concept unlocks so player has to do very well on each level.
  3. Add a quick restart.
  4. Need new Music for Surplex Survival Level.
